AI-Augmented ID Micro-Cohort

From raw input to real impact.

Turn one real SME interview or raw content dump into a polished, portfolio-ready course case study in two weeks.

For instructional designers who want AI beside their practice—not in the driver's seat.

The SME-to-storyboard workflow

A repeatable way to make AI-assisted work sound like you.

This is not a prompt library. It is a visible, guided sequence for turning subject-matter expertise into an intentional learning experience.

  1. 01

    SME input

Find the signal in the source material.

Bring one real SME interview, notes file, or unstructured content dump. Start with the useful mess, not a polished classroom prompt.

  2. 02

    AI co-pilot

    Use AI to accelerate—not decide.

Prompt for synthesis, options, and production support while you make the calls on learners, objectives, practice, and assessment.

  3. 03

    ID workflow

Turn insight into a defensible storyboard.

Work through a clear sequence from learning problem to objective, flow, activity, feedback, and a build-ready design rationale.

  4. 04

    Portfolio proof

Package the work you can stand behind.

Leave with a polished course concept and a case-study narrative that shows how you think—not just what a tool generated.

Two-week sprint

Enough structure to move. Enough space to think.

You will build in public with a small cohort, then take the time to make the work yours between sessions.

Week one

From raw content to learning architecture

Clarify learner needs, shape the core performance goal, and turn SME expertise into a useful content model and storyboard direction.

Week two

From storyboard to portfolio proof

Refine the learner experience, use AI for responsible production support, and create the narrative that explains your decisions.

Expected outcome

One portfolio-ready case study with a point of view.

A clear source-to-solution narrative

A documented SME-to-storyboard process

A course concept with rationale and learning flow

A case-study outline you can adapt for your portfolio or LinkedIn

For the next chapter

Be the designer who knows when AI helps—and what to do next.

Early-career IDs get a real practice loop instead of another certificate. Mid-career IDs get a grounded way to stay relevant without compromising craft.

Join the Founding Cohort

Instructor & founder

Built by a practitioner. Details shared before enrollment.

CohortCraft is led by an instructional-design practitioner who will guide the first cohort through a transparent, hands-on process. Founder background, facilitation approach, and cohort expectations will be published before seats open.

No borrowed bios. No invented credentials.

Questions, answered

Before you join the sprint.

Do I need a real SME interview?

A real interview or content dump makes the sprint most useful. If you do not have one yet, bring a plausible raw source from your work, volunteer project, or a subject you know well.

Is this for brand-new instructional designers?

Yes. The sprint is structured for aspiring and early-career IDs, and it is equally useful for experienced designers who want a current, AI-aware process they can trust.

Will I learn a specific AI tool?

You will use AI as a flexible co-pilot, not train on a single platform. The focus is the instructional-design judgment that makes any tool more useful.

What does hybrid live + async mean?

Live build sessions create momentum and make the thinking visible. Async templates, prompts, and peer touchpoints give you room to develop your own work between sessions.
